The seminal artist is making the most of her Aussie trip.
Godmother of punk Patti Smith has revealed plans to perform Melbourne and Sydney sideshows following her huge Bluesfest appearance over the Easter weekend.
The US legend’s career needs no explanation, having recorded 11 studio albums, a best-selling memoir and multiple books of poetry. Most recently, Smith released Year of the Monkey, a literary memoir that blends real-life experiences with her dreams and fiction.
Smith’s last Aussie tour in 2017 completely sold out and earned her the Helpmann Award for Best International Contemporary Concert, so you’d better not sleep on this one.
“I really didn’t expect to be coming back, but it was just such a great trip. I really thought that I wouldn’t be able to come back – so I’m delighted that I was wrong,” she said.
