Louis Theroux to launch his first-ever podcast, ‘Grounded with Louis Theroux’

The documentary king is entering the audio space.

The king of the interview, Louis Theroux, is gearing up to launch his first-ever podcast, Grounded with Louis Theroux. The podcast will be commissioned by BBC Radio 4 and will see the famed inquisitor interview his bucket list people.

The best bit of the show is that these are people Theroux has never interviewed before. Some of the guests he’s got on board include lauded British comedian Lenny Henry, star performer Boy George as well as legendary actor Miriam Margolyes who’s famous for her work in both the film and TV worlds. Remember Professor Sprout from Harry Potter?

Theroux’s first episode, to be made available on Monday April 27, will feature an hour-long chat with writer and fellow documentary maker Jon Ronson. Rivals on the park, it seems like an ironic choice first up but Ronson has had an equally intriguing career. Ronson has written a number of books, including most famously The Men Who Stare at Goats and So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed. His film credits include FrankStanley Kubrik’s Boxes, Death in Santaland and so many more.

“I’ve really loved doing these interviews. It’s been a chance to speak to people I admire and have in-depth conversations with them about their lives, their careers, and their most intimate feelings,” Theroux said about the podcast. “Making a podcast and radio series is very different to my usual way of working. And for that reason, I’ve found it very fun and refreshing.”

Theroux was just out in Australia in January with his Without Limits show, which saw him venture all around Australia to rave reviews.
