Keep up to date with all the latest music interviews, news and reviews here.

Offering courses in Sound Production, Music Business, Photography, Animation, Film and Make Up Artistry, United Pop Australia pairs high quality education, in small sized classrooms, with the practical exposure necessary to gain a grasp of how the arts and media industries work and behave.

In particular, United Pop’s Sound Production courses are providing aspiring creatives the perfect opportunity to chase their dream job behind the mixing desk. Specific to those keen on the many vocations within sound production – whether it be a recording engineer, sound designer, music producer, mastering engineer and beyond – the courses offer a combination of music theory and hands-on studio experience.

The options include an Advanced Diploma of Music Industry (Sound Production) or (Music Business) – a full time on-site course (minimum of 20 hours per week) that runs for 84 weeks, or the Diploma of Music Industry (Sound Production) or (Music Business) – also a full-time on-site course that runs for 52 weeks. Then there’s the Short Course: The Ultimate Ableton Live Course which spans six Saturdays and gives students all the tools to understand and navigate the core functionality of Ableton Live.

The music industry has never been more production based, with contemporary artists constantly challenging the capabilities of sound to further their music. Yet, much of this ingenuity wouldn’t be possible without the assistance of a production expert – someone who understands when to push and when to pull. This is where you come into the equation.

With access to United Pop’s state-of-the-art studios and labs at their Queen Street campus in Melbourne’s CBD, students have all the tools they need to throw paint at the wall and see what sticks. Are you ready?

To cap it all off, United Pop is hosting their own ‘Study for a Day’ Open Day on Friday April 30, welcoming future students the opportunity to come along and experience a full day in class as a United Pop Photography or Sound Production student. The day is free of charge and will take place from 10am until 3:30pm at United Pop’s Queen Street campus.

United Pop’s ‘Study for a Day’ Open Day takes place on Friday April 30. Register your interest here. The next intake for United Pop’s Sound Production courses is in May. Find out more here.
