“The band’s name is City Lights Fade, and I play rhythm guitar.”

So then, what’s the band name and what you ‘do’ in the band?

"The band’s name is City Lights Fade, and I play rhythm guitar."

Bearing the terribly clichéd nature of this question, what do you reckon people will say you sound like?

"In my opinion we don’t really sound like any band out there at the moment, we’ve tried really hard to make the sound we have our own. We have heavy riffs and poppy vocals you can sing a long to. There’s also an electronic element to our sound; I feel the electronic and poppy vocals are what sets us apart from sounding like a specific band."

What do you love about making music?

"The creative side of it. It’s like you can just do whatever you want to do in any song. Sometimes things work, and sometimes they don’t. But nothing beats playing live on stage and seeing everyone singing back to the songs we have worked so hard on for months on end."

What do you hate about the music industry?

"I don’t hate anything about the music industry. The best part is that you’re always surrounded by mates in other bands, and when you get to play shows with them it’s the best thing ever. We play a lot of shows with Ghosts On Broadway; they’re a totally different-sounding band to ours (in a good way) they are really heavy, screaming and have an amazing stage presence. Every-time we have played a show with them we are met with nothing but cheers. They’re great mates of ours."

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

"Marty McFly. I would love to see him playing Break The Walls at the Enchantment Under The Sea dance, rather than Johnny B Good. ‘I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet, But your kids are gonna love it’."

What can a punter expect from your live show?

"Disney sing-alongs."

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?

"At the moment we have our first EP The Whole World Is Not Against You and in April we will have our new release Strikes Back."

When’s the gig and with who?

"It’s on February 25 for the grand opening of Killer at the Star Hotel in Melbourne. I would love to say who the headlining band is, but their label says we can’t announce it. All that I can say is that we are pumped to not only come down to Melbourne, but also to play a show with a band of this calibre. Either way, we go onstage at 10pm and there’s a $2,000 bar tab from 9pm-10pm in beer garden – fun times!"

Anything else to add?

"You can check us out on Facebook and keep up to date with new music and upcoming shows, as well as on Twitter. But I would love to say check out our mates in these bands: The Mission In Motion, Ghosts On Broadway, Heroes For Hire, Tonight Alive, The Never Ever and Vendetta Fields they all have a lot of exciting times ahead of them."
