Never say die.

Collingwood live music institution The Tote has launched a Go Fund Me to support its staff members in the midst of indoor gathering restrictions, event cancellations and social distancing, which have all had a huge impact on local businesses and live music venues.

Launched yesterday, the Go Fund Me has already raised almost $1,000. Today, The Tote announced it will not open tonight and is exploring a delivery service for the bar and kitchen moving forward.

“In the last week The Tote has suffered with this drop in patronage. While the business is looking at avenues to survive this event, our bar staff have been on the front line,” said The Tote team in a statement.

“We are asking our community, our friends, our customers to help get or staff through his period of financial uncertainty. We don’t need a lot and if you are in a position to give I would hope you would give any small amount you can spare to all the bars you value and enjoy.”

The Tote is also selling merch through Sound Merch to help generate an income during these difficult times.
