The Peep Tempel and Graveyard Train offshoot Shepparton Airplane reveal upcoming album

They’ve also released the first single from the record.

Melbourne post-punk powerhouse Shepparton Airplane have revealed details of their forthcoming album Sharks, set to drop in April. The ten-track album will mark the band’s third LP.

Comprising members of The Peep Tempel and Graveyard Train, Shepparton Airplane maintain fragments of the inimitable sounds of its members’ former projects while adding their own distinct flavour.

A mash of punchy post-punk, rock and shoegaze, Sharks is bursting with warped instrumentals and genre-defying soundscapes.

Recorded at Melbourne’s iconic Sing Sing Studios by award-winning sound engineer Anna Laverty, the record is a testament to the outfit’s Melbourne roots – no, none of them hail from Shepparton – and sees them stretching the reaches of their sonic territory further than ever.

Giving a taste of what’s to come, the band have also released the first single from the record ‘Fear’. Check it out below.

Sharks is due for release on Friday April 17 via Wing Sing. Head to the band’s Facebook page to find out more.
