The team from Sailors Grave Brewing explain how the local flora influences their range of brews.

In our latest video series Your Happy Space, we’re taking to regional Victoria to meet some of the state’s most eclectic creatives and entrepreneurs and hear about their happy spaces. For the first instalment, we visited East Gippsland to meet the brains behind Sailors Grave Brewing, Gab and Chris.

Sailors Grave Brewing takes inspiration from its surrounds, incorporating local flavours into its palate of finely crafted beers. From the farmland to the array of seaside flora, Gippsland is bursting with inspiration and possibilities. Not only are Gab and Chris working on building a fruitful beer scene within the Gippsland area, but their brews are also available across Australia, offering a little taste of their coastal region no matter where you are.

In addition to visiting Sailors Grave Brewing to see Gab and Chris in action and talk about what sets them apart from other breweries, they take us on a tour of the area to visit some of the local bars and eateries changing the game through contemporary and innovative ideas.

Join us as we encounter a worldly culinary experience drawing from locally sourced produce at SARDINE eatery + bar, head over to the stunning Marlo Hotel overlooking the Snowy River for a beer, dine on delicious desserts and revel in the community spirit at Long Paddock and traverse the postcard-worthy scenery at Salmon Rocks and Cape Conran Nature Trail.

Your Happy Space shines a light on the diverse beauty of Victorian landscapes and regions. Through this series, we aim to showcase the people elevating their humble hometowns and break down the barriers that country towns can present to business owners, creators and makers. Close enough for a weekend getaway or a mini-vacation, these spots are worth jumping in the car for and are sure to become your new happy place. There will be more Your Happy Space videos to come, so stay tuned.
