The 2019 APRA Song of the Year finalists are here

The largest peer-voted music award in Australia returns.

Celebrating homegrown songwriters who excelled in 2019, the APRA Song of the Year shortlist has been revealed.

Chosen by APRA members, the shortlist contains 25 releases from across last year, including tracks from Paul Kelly, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Sampa the Great and Thelma Plum.

This year’s shortlist also welcomes a slew of APRA Song of the Year first-timers, including Tones and I, Mallrat, and Tropical Fuck Storm.

The shortlist will be whittled down to just five finalists before the winner is revealed in April at the annual APRA Music Awards ceremony in Sydney.
