The Basin Concert is being revived by the Party In The Paddock organisers.

Just last week it was announced that The Basin Concert would be making its return to the Australian festival scene for the first time since 2016. After taking a few years off, Vibestown Productions – the legends behind the recently-ceased Party In The Paddock – announced they would be taking over the reigns of the iconic concert series.

Now, The Basin Concert has just revealed their 2021 lineup, and it’s a beauty.

What you need to know

  • The Basin Concert will return to Launceston on Friday March 26 and Saturday March 27
  • Once Australia’s longest-running concert series, The Basin Concert hasn’t taken place since 2016
  • The festival is being revived by Vibestown Productions, the event organisers behind Party In The Paddock

Off the top, The Basin Concert will be welcoming Brisbane’s beloved Ball Park Music – who recently finished fourth in the Hottest 100 with their gem of a track ‘Cherub’ – alongside atmospheric rock explorers Holy Holy and Australian country music royalty Kasey Chambers.

That’s just the start. Elsewhere, punters can expect performances from 2020 Hottest 100 runners-up Spacey Janearguably the hottest band on Australia’s music circuit right now, rock legends Spiderbait, dynamic electropop kings Boo Seeka, folk hearthrob Kim Churchill and award-winning singer-songwriter Thelma Plum – who herself released one of the best albums of the last few years, Better in Blak.

Capping off the announcement come a slate of local favourites – Carl Renshaw, Bec Stevens, In The Flowers, Medhanit, The Holiday Collective and Slaughterhaus Surf Cult will all take to the stage for The Basin Concert’s momentous return.

“We’re super stoked with the calibre of this all-Australian lineup,” Vibestown Productions Director Jesse Higgs says of the announcement. “With the timeframe we had and the testing conditions present, we are both relieved and excited to be delivering the goods to our Tassie compadre.”

With the capacity of the festival capped at 3,000 entrants at any one time, tickets to The Basin Concert will be hot property. The event is all ages but those under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult over 21 years of age.
