Indie pop artist Sannia returns with not one, but two mesmerising music videos

Sannia
Words by Annie-Mei Forster

The singer-songwriter makes a glorious comeback after releasing her debut single last year.

After bursting onto the Australian music scene last year and winning triple j’s Unearthed competition, Melbourne indie pop star Sannia has two new tracks for you to have a listen to.

The two singles, ‘Daylight’ and ‘Better’, are accompanied by two stunning music videos directed by award-winning writer and director Emily Dynes. Highlighting the emerging Melbourne artist’s emotive songwriting and powerful vocals, ‘Daylight’ is a relatable story of unrequited love for a close friend.

Sannia said, “I wrote this song on a train home after a big night out with friends, I sort had this weird semi-inebriated epiphany that I was head over heels for someone close to me, and in that same moment I realised he absolutely didn’t feel the same at all.”

On ‘Better’, the singer-songwriter continues with this theme of love: “The first thing I thought of when I imagined a video for this song was two dancers really representing the constantly shifting sands of a turbulent relationship.”

Prepare to catch a lot of feelings when Sannia plays two exclusive shows in Melbourne and Sydney later this month to celebrate the double release.
