Rainbow Serpent Festival will return in April

After bushfires forced festival organisers to postpone this year’s Rainbow Serpent Festival, the event will make its triumphant return this Easter.

As a result of bushfire damage to the festival’s Lexton site and safety concerns, the Rainbow Serpent crew made alternate plans for this year’s festival. Having operated over the January long weekend for 22 years, the decision wasn’t made lightly.

Rather than cancelling the festival altogether, this year’s Rainbow Serpent was re-devised as two special events. Late last month, Rainbow Serpent Festival – Urban Edition took over a spread of inner-city venues and now, festival organisers are putting the finishing touches on plans for the second instalment of this year’s Rainbow Serpent, set to go down at the beloved Lexton site.

The first round announcement is set to drop soon and promises a huge slate of international and homegrown acts. As well as continuing its renowned reputation for top-notch music programming, the festival will also feature a range of talks, workshops and visual delights.

“While it’s been a difficult period for the Rainbow crew, we’re viewing it as an opportunity to re-evaluate and alter our direction to return to our roots,” said Founder and Director Frank Venuto.

Rainbow Serpent Festival 2020 will go down from Friday April 10 – Monday April 13 in Lexton, grab your tickets here. Stay tuned and keep an eye on Rainbow Serpent Festival’s Facebook for more announcements.
