Prince memoir ‘The Beautiful Ones’ to be published posthumously

The release date for the long-awaited memoir has been revealed.

Just weeks before his death in 2016, Prince announced plans to release a memoir detailing his life and legacy. The legendary singer’s untimely death meant the book was never released, though three years on The Beautiful Ones is finally set for publication.

The Beautiful Ones, to be published by Random House, contains Prince’s unfinished manuscript along with scrapbooks of rare personal photos and handwritten lyrics. The 288-page book, which has been completed with the aid of the Prince Estate, also features an introduction by Dan Piepenbring of Paris Review and The New Yorker, touching on the late singer’s final days.

The Beautiful Ones is the deeply personal account of how Prince Rogers Nelson became the Prince we know: the real-time story of a kid absorbing the world around him and creating a persona, an artistic vision, and a life, before the hits and the fame that would come to define him,” according to Random House and is set for release on October 29, 2019.
