Indie-rock/pop will meet jazz and soul in the afternoon leading up to Christmas at Open Studio. Bring your dancing shoes for the up-beat pop melodies from the energetic three-piece Water Sport, and be soothed by the both sweet and powerful jazzy vocals of Nicole Halford, who will be joined by her talented band The Rose Limbs – A powerhouse three-piece with funk-rock/reggae rhythms and a refined, unique vibe.
Nicole Halford is a 22 year-old jazz/soul/indie artist originally from Bairnsdale, Victoria. Since releasing her debut EP ‘It’s Only Temporary’ in August 2018, Nicole has moved to Melbourne and been playing shows across a range of venues around Northcote, Fitzroy, Brunswick, Collingwood and St Kilda. In November last year she supported Triple J Unearthed folk artist Didirri at The Evelyn Hotel on his ‘Measurements’ Australia Tour.
In 2019 Nicole has gathered a line-up of tasteful musicians to add to her soulful sounds. She has a powerful jazz/soul voice with a spectacular range, her lyrics are thought-provoking and her band’s funky/reggae-rock rhythms help bring her improvisational melodies into a new and excitingly colorful light.
Water Sport is a 3-piece indie rock band from the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. The band was formed in their last year of high school and features Aaron Tsamourtzis(Vocals/Guitar), Tom Spreckley (Bass) and Cole Kirby (Drums).
