Swapping out DJ sets with live gigs.
The NGV Friday Nights series is back again, with this program featuring a handful of up-and-coming and established Aussie acts.
Kicking off the proceedings are Melbourne natives Husky. The group are no strangers to the NGV game, having made an appearance back in 2016. Joining Husky on the NGV Friday Nights bill is Ngaiire, Kira Puru, Approachable Members of Your Local Community, Thandi Phoenix and more.
Last time around, punters were treated to a bunch of DJ sets by acts including Confidence Man, San Cisco, Harvey Sutherland and Japanese Wallpaper. But it appears the NGV is switching it up a little by now focusing on live performances.
The slate of gigs go hand in hand with the upcoming Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality and Cai Guo-Qiang: The Transient Landscape exhibitions, landing at the NGV from Friday May 24. In addition to getting your groove on, ticketholders will also get after-hours access to these two incredible collections.
