MIFF Announce 2013 Next Gen Program

This year’s program will feature 13 carefully curated films covering cultural and social issues that young people can identify with. Marta Cunningham’s timely exploration of school violence and homophobia Valentine Road will be screening.

 

Other films selected include Touch of Light and Day of Crows aimed at junior secondary students. The must sees for middle secondary students are Approved for Adoption and Capturing Dad. While films chosen for senior secondary students include What Richard Did, Blackbird, Foxfire: Confessions of a Girl Gang.

 

Patty’s Catch Up will be screening as Next Gen’s German Day Out film and their will be a number of family friendly films for the weekends. The Talking Pictures: Watch and Learn Program will run concurrently to give students an opportunity to discuss the films they are seeing.
