Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is playing all your favourite music from the Studio Ghibli films

My Neighbour Totoro

Stock up on some Ghibli goodness with this one-off performance.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will be bringing a bunch of iconic Studio Ghibli films to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in February.

Conducted by long-time collaborator Joe Hisaishi, the one-night-only concert will explore the mesmerising scores of some of Ghibli’s greatest, including Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbour Totoro and Spirited Away. What’s more, the films will be playing on a huge screen while the orchestra performs alongside it.

To fully encapsulate the wonder of director Hayao Miyazaki’s creations, the MSO will be joined by a full children’s choir and marching band. When this concert was performed in 2018, tickets sold out in just minutes, so get in quick.

Music from the Studio Ghibli Films of Hayao Miyazaki will be performed at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday February 29. Tickets go on sale Monday October 21 via the MSO website.
