City of Melbourne highlights local musicians with new playlist series

DRMNGNOW

Showcasing the city’s best and brightest.

The City of Melbourne has unveiled the first of many Spotify playlists that celebrate the abundance of talent coming out of the city.

As part of the Melbourne Music Plan, the Looking Out, Looking In playlists will be curated by a handful of music industry figures and represent Melbourne’s diverse cultural scene. The first playlist is curated by Jerry Poon (JPS) from Aussie music collective The Operatives and covers hip hop, house, techno, R&B, jazz and soul artists.

Musos featured on the first instalment include DRMNGNOW, thando, Kaiit, Billy Davis and Yeo. The tracks on the playlists add up to over four hours of groovy tunes. More carefully curated playlists are on their way, so keep an eye on the City of Melbourne’s Spotify page for more.
