The story will be told from the perspective of Mathew Knowles.
It seems the world is ablaze with Beyonce fever at the moment – even more so than usual. The last week alone saw the singer’s critically acclaimed album Lemonade finally hit streaming services while Netflix dropped a documentary on her iconic Coachella performance titled Homecoming, in hand with a live album by the same name. It seems Beyonce’s dad, Mathew Knowles, is keen to cash in on the hype, announcing plans for a Destiny’s Child musical.
Destiny’s Child co-creator and his daughter’s former manager, Knowles revealed Survivor: The Destiny’s Child Musical on his website, stating “I want to pull back the curtain. I feel it’s time to give the world an opportunity to hear, see and feel the victories and failures that I’ve had as a husband, father and manager who risked everything in pursuit of fulfilling dreams – those of mine and others.”
The musical will be told from the perspective of Matthew Knowles, who aims to take the show to Broadway and London’s West End. Beyonce, who discontinued her professional relationship with her dad in 2011, is yet to comment on the endeavour.
