The team behind a critically acclaimed documentary on a First Nations musician have announced a crowdfunding campaign in the hopes of producing a sequel.
The latest documentary, Morning Star, is a follow-up to 2017’s Westwind, which followed Galpu elder Djalu Gurruwiwi as he shared his traditional knowledge and songlines down to the next generation. The sequel will follow Larry Gurruwiwi and Malawurr on their European tour. Larry is now a custodian of Djalu’s songlines and traditions, and will now spread the message overseas, including at WOMAD in the UK.
Morning Star‘s crowdfunding campaign has roped in the face and voice of Game Of Thrones‘ Jerome Flynn to help promote the cause. You can check out the video below:
