There’s something in it for you, too.

While St Kilda Festival has done its dash for 2019, it’s never too early to start thinking about next year – particularly, the lineup. As always, Australia’s biggest free music festival is looking to put fresh homegrown talent to the forefront and they want to know who you hope to see on the stage in 2020.

Over the weekend, ten up-and-coming acts performed as part of the New Music Stage Competition in hopes of being crowned the fan favourite and scoring a $5000 cash prize and a slot on the Main Stage for St Kilda Festival 2020. In the past, the New Music Stage has seen performances by Client Liaison, Baker Boy, Missy Higgins, The Cactus Channel and Husky, so there’s no doubt we haven’t heard the last of this year’s pick.

The acts to hit the New Music Stage as part of the competition are Libby Steel, Flossy, JAMO, The Little Lord Street Band, Squid Nebula, Niine, Mane, The Merindas, Port Royal and HVNCOQ, but it is up to the audience as to who will be back next year. To add a little incentive to having your say, voting for your favourite act will put you in the running to win a pair of Yamaha HPH-150 headphones.

All you have to do is head to the St Kilda Festival website to vote. If you’re having trouble remembering who’s who, there are photos and playing times for all the acts from the New Music Stage.
