Video premiere: THIA. reveals a pastel pop delight with ‘Holding Your Hand’

The track covers an emotionally complex issue.

On the back of her freshly released debut EP, Building Blocks, budding Melbourne-based producer and singer-songwriter THIA. returns with a video clip for ‘Holding Your Hand’.

Melding shimmering washes of synth with vibrant vocals, ‘Holding Your Hand’ details the emotional burden we often take on when helping a loved one through a difficult time. Encompassing elements of pop, soul and R&B, all swathed in ’80s-style production, the track is compulsively rhythmic and infectiously listenable.

The film clip is an aesthetic delight, too, with a colour-coordinated palette of pastel blues, purples and yellows illustrating each scene. Mimicking the narrative of the track, the clip portrays the strain of holding someone’s hand through difficult moments.
