The rock festival series was set to go down next month.
Rock carnival Under the Southern Stars has been postponed until early next year amid public health concerns. The 12-date festival series was set to kick off in early April.
Slated to bring rock favourites Live, Bush, Stone Temple Pilots and more to the stage, the run of events was scheduled to make its way to regional and metro areas across three weeks next month.
“We have been closely monitoring the situation as it develops and following directives from the Chief Medical Officer of the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC),” said UTSS promoter Andrew McManus.
“With the increase of travel bans and lock downs, in an effort to stop transmission of the virus, and with the safety of our patrons, artists, staff and crew in mind we have no other alternative than to postpone our April 2020 festival tour dates,” he added.
The UTSS team are already liaising with artists from this year’s lineup to plan revised festival dates, set to be announced next week. It’s likely the event will be moved to February or March in 2021. Tickets for this year’s event will be valid for the rescheduled festival.
