Art-punk band Tsushimamire from Chiba, Japan, are taking on the world. After smashing their way through US, Europe and Asia tours, the all-female trio are taking their electric live show to Australia for the first time ever.
All-female, all-power, TSMMR are one of the most captivating rock bands in Japan. They’ve built a cult following internationally with legendary shows at Austin’s SXSW and Benten Label’s Japan Nite shows. Last year, the band played an astonishing 20-hour-long gig! For their first tour to Australia, the trio are turning the dial to chaos with their ecstatic energy. “I want to move Australian hearts with our music!” says bassist Yayoi Tsushima.
Idiosyncratic, non-stop, with often funny and disturbing lyrics, the trio play a quirky mix of punk rock, free jazz, ska, surf and funk. Listening to TSMMR is always a good time, but to see the band play live is a rabid, other-worldly experience.
