Transitions Film Festival returns for its eighth year

Championing sustainability and gender equality.

Transitions Film Festival will return to Cinema Nova this February, showcasing documentaries from local and international directors, aimed at mobilising audiences towards a better world. This year’s program features 28 films covering a range of themes, from technological innovation and food sustainability, to online privacy and gender equality.

A wide range of Australian films have made the lineup this year, including Our Power, which explores the Hazelwood mine fires, Ranger to Ranger, featuring Aussie musician Dan Sultan and the uplifting Ubuntu. Joining the homemade movies are a bunch of international titles, such as climate change film The Human Element, which explores the effects of rising sea levels on island communities.
