Time to dance because Yah Yah’s just announced their first weekend party since COVID hit

Words by Tom Parker

*Cues Florence & The Machine’s ‘Dog Days Are Over’*

Melbourne’s pre-eminent dance haven Yah Yah’s has just announced their first weekend party since COVID hit and gahhhhh, what do we have to do to get a tick!

Dormant on weekends since March, the ol’ d-floor might have accrued a few dust bunnies over the journey, but that’s nothing a few ardent sprinklers or shopping trolleys can’t fix.

‘Can the DJ please cue Florence & The Machine’s ‘Dog Days Are Over’? My time has come.’

Yah Yah’s has slowly kicked back into gear with their Thursgay events over the last few weeks but this will be the first weekend foray from the venue.

So, what are the deets?

Open from 9pm ’til 4am (yes, she’s going deeeeeeeep) on Saturday December 19, punters can either purchase a ticket to the club only ($10), or a ticket to both the club and bandroom ($15), whereby local rockers The Crookeds will be taking to the stage for a special show.

There will be $10 espresso martinis all night long, alongside a bunch of other cocktail specials. Given there can only be up to 50 people on a dancefloor at any one time due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, this is a premium ticket and stands as the perfect opportunity to dance away the absolute fiasco that was 2020.

What else more can we say… get your ticket ASAP!
