The Wattles’ ‘Days Glare’ is equal parts indie dream-pop and moody ballad

The newly-reimagined Sydney outfit are back with a brand new single.

At the beginning of 2020, acoustic duo James & Lucy began experimenting with a more dynamic sound and recruited two new members to form The Wattles. Continuing to stretch the parameters of their sonic identity, the fully-fleshed four-piece have delivered a genre-blending new single.

Driven by keys and soft percussion, ‘Days Glare’ is simple yet affecting. The melody swirls and swells as it oscillates between a moody ballad and indie pop energy.

Tied together by Lucy Murray’s evocative vocals and emotive lyrics, ‘Days Glare’ walks the line between darkness and light beautifully.

The single is accompanied by a film clip overlaying dancing shadows with dissipating watercolours to create visuals as mesmeric as the music.
