The Divinyls cancel upcoming national tour dates

With just under a month to go.

The Divinyls announced last night they would be cancelling their national tour, which was set to kick off on Wednesday February 27 in Geraldton, Western Australia.

In a statement, tour organisers said the cancelled tour is a result of “unforeseen circumstances”. The tour was meant to head from WA, through to Adelaide and then up the east coast before reaching Darwin. It was to be led by Divinyls guitarist Mark McEntee and joined by LA-based singer-songwriter Lauren Ruth Ward, Blondie guitarist and former Divinyls member Frank Infante, J Cortez and Malcolm Clarke.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances the forthcoming Divinyls Australian tour has been cancelled,” the statement read.

All tickets will be refunded by the relevant agency, with no future touring dates mentioned.

The tour would’ve seen the iconic Aussie rock outfit head around the country for the first time since the death of beloved lead vocalist Chrissy Amphlett in 2013. In late 2018, Amphlett was inducted into the Music Victoria hall of fame.
