The Beastie Girls are hosting a drag game show in Brunswick this Friday

The Beastie Girls

Melbourne drag superstars The Beastie Girls are holding their Drag Show Game Show at the Brunswick Ballroom this Friday.

The Beastie Girls want you to experience the dazzling highs and gutter-trash lows of being an aspiring drag superstar, through the unique medium of a drag show game show. It’s fun for the whole family (except your homophobic uncle).

The game show splits contestants into teams vying for rival houses under the guise of The Beastie Girls – your drag mothers – who guide teams through a series of drag challenges. Expect a kooky, humorous and self-deprecating night of insanity that will be familiar to any who have seen The Beastie Girls in practice before. Drag Show The Game Show is a once in a lifetime interactive experience that brings to life the full spectrum of drag that some have deemed “complete chaos”.

About the Beastie Girls

From their humble beginnings in early 2017, The Beastie Girls ( Lazy Susan, Zelda Moon and Benign Girl ) have brought to life a full spectrum of drag that some have deemed “complete chaos.”  From the dazzling highs to the gutter trash lows, none have made a reputation of being deluded, mediocre hacks quite like these women.

The YouTube superstars have sold out Fringe shows in Melbourne, starred in Troye Sivan’s ‘Easy’ vid and are embarking on an Australian tour in 2022. They’ve hosted the Midsumma Carnival 2020 T-Dance afterparty, were featured in a Spotlight campaign, a MECCA campaign, and attended & performed at the NGV Gala 2019.

Perhaps best known for the digital content, the videos the ladies create can be found on their Facebook page, and on Lazy and Zelda’s YouTube pages where the girls upload react videos to every episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Meet the Girls

Benign Girl, the woman in blue.  Whether she’s pazzing out, making out or on the verge of blacking out, Benign gives it her all – 100%!  A Gold Coast chick through and through, she has a talent for embodying Australian women that we all know and love – the girl in Trigger Bros trackies who bullied you in high school, the girl you avoid eye contact with outside the shopping centre, and sometimes she’s the girl you saw munted in the crowd at that music festival…

Lazy Susan, she’s the yellow one!  Lazy is the mastermind behind the majority of The Beastie Girls’ most ambitious and sickening promotional content, she’s putting her film degree to work!  She’s also a diamond crowned queen – Lazy Susan won Drag Net 2016!  She’s a high concept kind of girl, a prop queen, and she will work a room with that microphone like no other – unless you can pry it from her cold, dead hands.

Finishing off with Zelda Moon, she’s pretty in pink!  Zelda’s the more calm and collected part of the trio, the nice girl who doesn’t drink, except for a Coke.  You’d be forgiven for thinking that Zelda’s a little more quiet than the other girls off the stage – but make no mistakes, on stage she’s a high energy, J-Pop dancing force to be reckoned with!
