Due to popular demand, The Aints are performing shows in Sydney and Melbourne in March. Keyboardist Alister Spence, a three-piece brass section and local five-piece Sand Pebbles complete the line-up for the Melbourne show at Thornbury Theatre on Friday March 23. Tickets go on sale this Thursday December 21.

The gigs will feature material from lead singer and guitarist Ed Kuepper’s teenage band The Saints as he is joined by Aints members Peter Oxley and Paul Larsen.

“Things had started to move fairly quickly once The Saints recorded Stranded in mid ’76,” says Kuepper. “We recorded three albums over the next two years as well as doing a fair bit of touring, and for a while things were looking very promising, however, business problems and artistic differences meant the band didn’t get around to recording all the material I had lying around. So, forty years later it occurred to me that these songs might well have made up a hypothetical fourth album”

The Aints are recording an album under the working title of The Church of Simultaneous Existence. The new album is made entirely of songs never recorded by Kuepper when he was in The Saints, 1973 – 1978.
