Temperance Hotel brings together a bunch of DJs to protest Sydney’s lockout laws

Keep warm this winter.

South Yarra’s Temperance Hotel is bringing the heat back to Melbourne this winter with the return of its annual Hot August Nights series.

Taking place every Saturday of the month, this year’s series will feature a huge lineup of DJs including John Course, Ivan Gough, James Ash, Sgt Slick and more. The special guests will be joined by weekly resident DJs Marcus Knight, Adam Trace and Garry Sheba.

When putting together this series, hotel staff said they were motivated to make a point against Sydney’s lockout laws and support those who have been negatively affected.

“This is our small way of contributing to the cause with a month-long program of great house music with talented guests in a safe environment,” said venue manager Dylan Hewlett.

Check out the lineup for Temperance Hotel’s Hot August Nights series below:

Saturday August 3 — James Ash and Sgt Slick

Saturday August 10 — Ivan Gough and Marcus Knight

Saturday August 17 — Holmes John

Saturday August 24 — Colour Castle

Saturday August 31 — John Course

The Hot August Nights series kicks off at 8pm and runs until 3am. For more info, head to the hotel’s Facebook event.
