Calling all emerging artists.

Performing at Austin’s SXSW is a dream come true for a lot of musicians worldwide. Given Aussie performers make up a huge chunk of the lineup each year, SXSW is getting the ball rolling by hosting info sessions for those looking to get their names on the bill next year.

The meet and greet sessions come just before SXSW online registrations open on Thursday August 1. Applications for bands looking to perform at SXSW will close in October.

The number of bands repping Australia has leapt from 5 in 2002 to 54 in 2019. Acts including Angie McMahon, Amyl and the Sniffers, WAAX and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have all made their talent known on the SXSW stage.

Check out the information sessions dates below:

Monday July 15, 5.30pm—8.00pm — The Gem, Melbourne VIC

Tuesday, July 16, 5.30pm—8.00pm — Upstairs Beresford, Sydney NSW

Wednesday, July 17, 5.30pm—8.00pm — Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane QLD

SXSW 2020 will be held between Friday March 13 and Sunday March 22.
