Spotify is taking its beloved hip hop playlist to the stage with A1 Live

To celebrate the flourishing hip hop scenes in Australia and New Zealand, Spotify will launch a live rendering of its A1 Hip Hop playlist, featuring performances from local emerging artists.

A1 Live will showcase live performances from Triple One, Manu Crooks, Kwame, JessB, Hooligan Hefs, and Sophiegrophy in a bid to shine a light on the rich spread of talent arising from Australia and NZ, as well as bringing the playlist format beyond the digital realm.

With world-class artists breaking through locally and stepping up to show they have their place in the global hip hop story, hip hop in Australia and New Zealand has never been healthier. A1 has become a home for local audiences to hear these artists sitting among fellow luminaries from the US, UK, and beyond,” says Senior Music Editor at Spotify Australia & NZ, Peter Stevens.

“To be able to bring an off-platform experience that heroes and celebrates the importance of homegrown talent, is something we are beyond excited about.”

The lineup for A1 Live was announced as part of Spotify’s current week-long pop-up, A1: Wall of Sound, at Sydney’s Honour Gallery today when a mass of vintage TV sets revealed a countdown timer before unveiling the acts set to perform at A1 Live.

A1 Live will take place at Metro Theatre, Sydney on Thursday November 7. Register here to go in the running to win tickets.
