Having brought the heat back to Melbourne this winter with the return of its annual Hot August Nights series, South Yarra’s Temperance Hotel is finishing the season with a bang. Comprising members from The Black Sorrows, Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons, and Paul Kelly’s band, it’s no surprise The Hornets are one of Australia’s most beloved blues bands. They’ll be charging into The Lomond Hotel on Saturday August 31 from 9:30pm for a free show. More info here.
Mark Howard at Downstairs
Melbourne’s Mark Howard is set to shake up Downstairs Bistro and Lounge on Friday August 30 with his slick fusion of high energy rock, smooth soul and swampy blues. Grab some drinks and dinner from the Southbank restaurant and catch Howard from 5pm until 8pm. Free entry. More info here.
All Night – Disco Edition at Thornbury Local
Between the hours of 9pm and 3am this Saturday August 31, Thornbury Local will revisit some iconic disco classics, sorely underrated tracks and innovative, electronica-infused mashups.
