Scott Darlow’s new single calls out the hypocrisy of Australian values and actions

‘Forgotten Australia’ is searingly honest and stunningly poignant.

Singer-songwriter and proud Yorta Yorta descendent Scott Darlow has revealed his latest single ‘Forgotten Australia’, an ode to the country of old that welcomed all with open arms.

As an Indigenous ambassador and World Vision spokesperson, Darlow’s latest single comes straight from the heart and is a product of his mission for change. Frequenting schools, jails and businesses to deliver talks covering genocide, land displacement, the Stolen Generation and white Australia, Darlow is now sending his message to the masses through song.

Coupled with a film clip which champions the cultural melting pot that is Australia, ‘Forgotten Australia’ doesn’t beat around the bush.

“They say we’ve got boundless plains to share, yet you say we’re full, you’re telling me to watch the oceans, but that’s how we became young and free,” Darlow croons in a blatant jab at the dissonance between our words and actions.

“As an Aboriginal man, I find the current anthem distressing. It doesn’t represent me or my people, and I love that I’ve taken some of the lyrics to illustrate the hypocrisy that Australia can often harbour,” said Darlow of the single.
