Returning for its second year, the one-day music festival is all about showcasing some of Australia’s best and emerging country-styled musician.

Located within the natural amphitheatre and surrounds of The Briars on the Mornington Peninsula, the inaugural event saw the likes of country music royalty Lee Kernaghan, The Sunny Cowgirls, Hurricane Fall, Gareth Leach, Oskar Proy and Andrew Swift take to the stage in 2020, drawing thousands of country music fans to Mt Martha.

Now the family-friendly event is upping the ante with a lineup that would rival even the most esteemed country music festivals, featuring some of the most celebrated names on the Australian country music scene.

Headlining the outdoor antics, the esteemed Kasey Chambers will fill the air with her unmistakable country twang. With a two-decade career and 12 award-winning albums under her belt, Chambers has more than established herself as a world-class icon of Australian country, making this a must-see performance for any music fan. Wearing the honesty of country music on her sleeve, Chambers and her band will light up the night with their genre-defying style and more than 20 years of hits this Autumn.

Joining Chambers, the festival will also see huge performances from three-time ARIA-award winner Shane Nicholson, one of Australia’s most revered and awarded country artists and producers, Melbourne country-pop harmony band Darlinghurst, three-time Golden Guitar nominee Jayne Denham, and the one and only ex-Idol start and Aussie icon Shannon Noll.

Nolsy, as he is affectionately known, holds certified triple-platinum sales, number #1 hits, five top ten albums, 17 platinum and three gold accreditations and boasts a reputation as the only Australian male artist in national chart history to have ever achieved ten consecutive top ten singles. We’re expecting huge, word-perfect singalongs for hits ‘What About Me’ and ‘Lift’.

Rounding out this enormous festival lineup, punters will also witness performances from Echuca-Moama singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gareth Leach, Melbourne’s eclectic country songstress Gretta Ziller, whose roots span jazz, blues, rock, pop and classical, and Mornington local’s Bo’Ness.

If you’re an avid The Voice viewer, you’ll recognise the names of twin brothers Callum and Jackson who appeared on the recent season as part of Team Kelly. Boasting authentic sibling harmony, their performances are naturally captivating with musical abilities well beyond their years. They’re young, but their determination and maturity see them ready to claim their well-deserved time in spotlight. And this is just the beginning.

Alongside the quality tunes, the day will also include an abundance of amusement rides, delicious bites from the likes of Hunger Busters, Curry Up Now, Street Eats and Wendy’s On Tour, alongside a slew of beers, wines, spirits and cider from award-winning local breweries.

Mornington Country Music Festival goes down on Saturday March 6 at The Briars in Mt Martha. Grab tickets here.
