After last year’s cancellation, Roady4Roadies returns this April for a nationwide celebration of the roadies who got through a year devoid of live music.
Roady4Roadies 2021 will take place on Sunday April 11, at venues in Adelaide, Brisbane, Central Coast, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Sydney and Townsville.

The 2021 Roady4Roadies ambassadors include ICEHOUSE, Missy Higgins, Vika & Linda Bull, Something for Kate’s Paul Dempsey, Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes/MONA), Catherine Britt, The Badloves and King Canyon.
“Road crew are absolutely the unsung heroes of our industry,” Something for Kate’s Paul Dempsey says.
“They literally make our events possible from the sound, to the lights, to the stages we stand on and they do it all with a professionalism and a passion to make sure that audience members and performers alike all have a great experience.”

ICEHOUSE has been playing live since the late ’70s, and lead singer Iva Davies says they wouldn’t be able to do so without their crew.
“Due to the pandemic, road crew have done it tougher than most in the last year and Roady4Roadies is a chance for all crew – and artists – to come together and support one another,” he said.
This year’s event is in-person, with COVID-safe protocols, and will see the day commence with the Roady4Roadies Walk (a leisurely 3-4km) from the Palais Theatre, culminating in a bunch of family activities and performances. All walk participants will receive a free t-shirt and mask, while sunscreen and water will be provided along the route.
If you can’t make it, but still want to support the crew behind your favourite gigs, virtual tickets are also available in the form of donations.
Aiming to spread awareness to roadies’ technical and creative contributions to the live music industry, Roady4Roadies is staged by a voluntary team of Australia’s leading live production professionals.
The event brings together gig crews, and the musicians they work for, to reconnect and support each other – and celebrate the return of live music.
