Queen Victoria Market announce A Merry Market Christmas

Queen Victoria Market is embracing the festive season, hosting a slew of workshops, live entertainment and Christmas shops with A Merry Market Christmas in the lead up to the holiday.

Open right up until Christmas Eve, for those who left everything until the very last minute, A Merry Market Christmas will offer seasonal food favourites including mince pies, shortbread, ham, turkey, prawns, oysters and cherries – because let’s face it, Christmas as an adult is basically just an excuse to eat and drink as many calories as humanly possible.

As well as filling your fridge, the market will also offer two eco-friendly workshops on December 9 for those looking to get crafty with their gifts. The Beeswax Wrap Workshop will teach attendees how to make their own reusable beeswax wraps, for an environmentally conscious alternative to plastic cling wrap that your mum will definitely froth, while the Preserves Workshop will blend the traditional methods of preserving produce with modern flavours and recipes.

There’ll be no shortage of gift ideas and stocking fillers too, so you can basically knock out your whole Christmas shopping slog in one hit. While you’re there, you can amp yourself up for the big day with some holiday cheer courtesy of carollers from Fitzroy North Primary School and St Michael’s North Melbourne Primary School on Tuesday December 4 and 11.
