PSA: Live music returns to The Corner next week

Words by Tom Parker

Fuck yes!

Gig-thirsty Melburnians, I just thought I’d kindly inform you that… LIVE MUSIC IS BACK!

Before I spiral out of control in excitement, I should probably get to the specifics. Last week, The Corner revealed a bunch of special shows set to take place at the venue and well, we’ve waited to spread the word because tickets don’t go on sale til next week.

So, who’s playing you ask?

Well, gigs start back with Corner Comedy on Tuesday November 24 – a night of laughs from the likes of Geraldine Hickey, Dave Thornton and Nazeem Hussain. Across an early show (6:30pm) and late show (9pm), punters can purchase tickets for a two-seater table, two-seater tall table, four-seater table, four-seater table on the side stage and a larger six-person table. Yes, it will be seated.

Tickets are $34 give or take a few cents and go on sale Monday November 23.

Then on Friday November 27, rock dynamos Kingswood will officially cut the ribbon on the return of live music when they take the stage for an early show (7pm) and late show (9pm). They’ll do the same for the following two nights.

It’s the same seating arrangement as Corner Comedy but the tickets are $50 for this one. They’ll go on sale Monday November 23.

You’ll find there’s a bunch of other shows that’ve been announced too in ensuing weeks, including The Grogans (tix on sale now), Black Cab, Samsurah and a Christmas show with Dan Warner and Al MacInnes – two Melbourne music icons of years gone by.
