Ultimate Success Today marks the band’s first album in three years.

Following on from their critically acclaimed 2017 album Relatives In Descent, Detroit rockers Protomartyr return will return with their fifth studio album Ultimate Success Today in May.

The ten-track album was recorded at New York’s Dreamland Recording Studios, a late 19th-century church, and features a range of guests on saxophone, bass clarinet, vocals, flute and cello, taking their sound into new territories.

Exhibiting the outfit’s fresh, obscure sonic tendencies, Ultimate Success Today sees them melding elements of rock and jazz to create textural, all-consuming melodies.

The album announcement comes hand in hand with a new single, ‘Processed By The Boys’ and an accompanying film clip. A play on a bizarre Brazilian TV segment in which a puppet provokes a brawl, the film clip portrays the band’s left-field style while offering a few laughs.

Check out ‘Processed By The Boys’ below.

Ultimate Success Today is due for release via Domino on May 29.
