Premiere: Melbourne rockers The Stained Daisies unleash their debut LP, ‘I Love You So Much’

1 / 4

I Love You So Much keeps you on your toes as The Stained Daisies experiment with their sound, leaving you eager to discover what the next track will bring.

Melbourne/Naarm-based rockers The Stained Daisies unveil their debut album, I Love You So Much, today. Showcasing the band’s evocative lyricism and diverse sonic palette, the record is deeply personal yet utterly relatable.

Some eight years in the making, the record explores the changing perspectives of four young people growing up in modern Australia, encompassing tales of friendship, love and a longing to understand life itself.

Comprising a mix of songs as old as the band itself and tracks finished just as recording for the album began in 2019, I Love You So Much is a snapshot of The Stained Daisies’ evolving yet signature sound.

Dynamic and sonically diverse, the record zags between rollicking garage rock numbers such as ‘CPR’ and ‘Frosty’ and expressive, emotionally-charged balladry including the likes of ‘Sit Long In The Silence’ and ‘Disillusioned Youth’.

From abrupt chord changes and screamed choruses to stripped-back melodies and buttery vocal harmonies, The Stained Daisies keep you on your toes as they experiment with their sound, leaving you eager to discover what the next track will bring.

A true DIY project, The Stained Daisies recorded I Love You So Much late last year in their home studio within the Brunswick warehouse in which they all lived at the time, with drummer/vocalist Aidan Bateman leading the audio engineering for the album with assistance from Jayden Hebbard (guitar, vocals).

The final touch on the emphatically sentimental album comes in the form of the cover artwork, painted by guitarist and vocalist Daniel Tuite.

“The album is not only a testament to the love and support we have for one another, but also a total triumph. We’re onto something special here and we are so excited to share these songs with you,” says The Stained Daisies’ bassist, keyboardist and vocalist, Jack Davison.
