Premiere: Drink up The Stained Daisies’ tasty new single, ‘Frosty’

Best enjoyed with a cold one in hand.

It’s been a strong start to the year for Melbourne rock’n’rollers The Stained Daisies. With their debut LP I Love You So Much locked-and-loaded for release, they gave a taste of what’s in store back in January when they dropped the first single from the album, ‘Sit Long In The Silence’, before taking it for a spin on an east coast tour.

While COVID-19 restrictions cut their March residency at The Tote short and put a pin in any touring plans, for now, they’ve gifted us with a fresh tune in the meantime.

Titled ‘Frosty’, the single is the second taste of The Stained Daisies’ forthcoming album and a testament to the healing powers of an ice-cold beer.

Touching on the sting of copping heat from your boss, getting scolded by the bus driver and being brushed off by your mates, ‘Frosty’ is a reminder that sometimes the answer to a bad day can be found at the bottom of an empty beer can.

Recorded in the band’s Brunswick warehouse, the single comes in hot with a funky bassline before introducing blistering riffs and breaking into a calamitous chorus that’ll have you raising your glass to the ceiling, shouting: “I want a frosty as cold as my heart!”

To celebrate the release, three-quarters of The Stained Daisies will be playing a live set via the band’s Instagram tonight at 7pm. BYO frosty.
