Premiere: Attaboi and Emma Volard deliver a groovy fusion of nu-jazz and house with ‘Petrichor’

The collaborative single sees the pair forging their own brand of electronic dance music.

Jazz-kid turned producer Jake Amy, aka Attaboi, has joined forces with emerging vocalist Emma Volard for ‘Petrichor’, a new single merging house beats and nu-jazz to give groove a whole new meaning.

Growing up on a steady diet of jazz in regional Victoria before moving to the big smoke and cutting his teeth as a session keyboardist and producer, Amy’s diverse influences shine through in his sound.

Bringing her future soul stylings to the track, Volard’s captivating vocals lead ‘Petrichor’ through an eclectic soundscape encompassing ’80s inspired synth drums, house beats and nu-jazz to create an earworming electronic concoction.

Mixed and mastered by Nick Herrera (Hiatus Kaiyote), the single is a sonic buffet that’s dreamy and commanding, all at once.

‘Petrichor’ is out tomorrow, but we’ve got an exclusive stream of the forthcoming single here.
