The digital event will feature sets from three Port Fairy Folk Festival favourites.

Port Fairy Folk Festival has teamed up with Geelong Arts Centre to present a special digital event following the cancellation of its 2021 instalment. Titled Home Folk, the online event will be livestreamed on Friday October 9, with sets from three beloved regional Victorian acts.

Home Folk will feature 30-minute performances from festival favourites Sal Kimber, Fenn Wilson and Van Walker to celebrate the extraordinary musical talent to come out of regional Victoria.

Port Fairy Folk Festival will return in March, 2022, having recently made the tough decision to cancel next year’s event due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 restrictions across the coming months.

“All of us at Port Fairy Folk Festival are delighted to be collaborating with Geelong Arts Centre to produce this online concert showcasing regional artists. We look forward to being able to continue providing such events throughout the next 12 months as we work towards our 45th Festival in March 2022,” said President of the Port Fairy Folk Festival Committee, John Young.

“As long-timeadmirers of the Port Fairy Folk Festival and their dedication to artistsand their fans, this is an incredible opportunity for Geelong Arts Centre to collaborate and support the festival, its fans and local artists at this time,” added Geelong Arts Centre Chief Executive Officer, Joel McGuiness.

Watch Home Folk via Facebook or the Geelong Arts Centre website on Friday October 9 from 8pm.
