Pixies have postponed their remaining Australian tour dates

The band were due to perform in Brisbane tonight.

Just a few dates into their Come On Pilgrim… It’s Surfer Rosa Australian Tour, Pixies have postponed their remaining shows due to public health concerns surrounding coronavirus.

Having performed at Golden Plains over the long weekend, as well as playing two shows at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre this week, the punk legends were scheduled to hit Brisbane, Sydney and Perth over the coming days.

“Out of caution for current public health concerns, Pixies are postponing the remaining Australian shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth,” said the band in a statement. “This was an extremely difficult decision, but the well-being of our fans is always our top priority.”

“Rescheduled dates for all of these shows will be announced soon. We ask that our fans retain their tickets as they will be honoured on the new dates. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to returning to Australia.”

Live Nation is working with the band to reschedule the tour for later this year, with hopes of announcing the new tour dates as soon as possible. Ticket holders unable to attend the new shows will receive a full refund.
