Mike Hadreas will return with his fifth studio album as Perfume Genius in May.
Titled Set My Heart On Fire Immediately, the album will explore traditional gender roles and masculinity across 13 tracks. Drawing from themes of love, sex, memory and the body, the record channels elements of popular music and a distinctively American music palate, each filtered through the eclectic Perfume Genius lens.
“I wrote these songs as a way to be more patient, more considered –to pull at all these chaotic threads hovering around me and weave them in to something warm, thoughtful and comforting,” says Hadreas of the album.
As well as revealing details around Set My Heart On Fire Immediately, Hadreas has also given a sneak peek at what’s to come with the first single from the album, ‘Describe’, and an accompanying film clip.
