Gigaton will be the band’s first studio album in seven years.
With this year marking Pearl Jam’s third decade of rocking, it seems fitting that the outfit have a new album on the way.
Titled Gigaton, the LP will stand as Pearl Jam’s 11th studio album and the first since their Grammy award-winning 2013 release, Lightning Bolt.
The first taste of the album will be revealed in the coming weeks, with the single ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’ set to drop soon.
To celebrate the forthcoming release of Gigaton, Pearl Jam will head on a North American tour this March. The tour will be followed by a previously announced run of shows in Europe.
“Making this record was a long journey,” said the band’s lead guitarist, Mike McCready. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”
