Northside brunch favourite Tinker is plating up perfection with a focus on sustainability

Words by Kate Streader

Tinker is making the move towards a sustainable business model.

Nestled in the heart of Northcote on High Street, Tinker has built a reputation for its Instagrammable bunch offerings which are as delicious as they are decorative.

Since opening its doors in December 2016, Tinker has not only become a favourite amongst locals but sees Melbourne foodies flocking to the northside suburb to get their fix.

They’ve got something for every kind of bruncher; there are Bloody Marys and espresso martinis for those looking for a morning kick or some hair of the dog, smoothies and nourish bowls to fuel the tank, decadent dessert-vibes such as the Golden Gaytime hotcakes or the mango and saffron pannacotta for all you ‘treat yourself’ types, plus a whole heap of brunch classics with a Tinker twist.

Since reopening their doors in line with the freshly-eased social distancing restrictions, they’ve brought in table bookings to curb the high demand and they’ve added a few new things to the menu, too. But the biggest change is Tinker’s new worm farm community garden to recycle all organic waste, which you can find behind the eatery.

It’s part of their gradual transition to a sustainable business model, so you can feel good about supporting a local business that’s supporting the planet with every bite.

Find Tinker at 235 High Street, Northcote. For more information, visit their website
