Tell us a bit about the history of your Valentine’s Day event.
Pal-entine’s Day kicked off in 2019, when we wanted to encourage our customers to bring their dogs to the venue. It was a huge success – people flocked to Newmarket with their pooch pals instead of dates! It was one of the highlights of our year and we just had to make it an annual event.
How is your Valentine’s Day event unique?
It’s a date with the most faithful being in your life! We figured dogs deserve some recognition for their loyalty, and we’re giving people the opportunity to spoil them.
What’s the perfect Valentine’s Day gift?
For your pooch? A Puppy Parma of course! We’ll be serving them up for just $5 on the day. But if you’re looking for the perfect gift for someone special, I think something personal and relevant to them – maybe it’s tickets to see that band they can’t stop talking about or a travel guide for that country they’ve been dreaming of travelling to. Flowers and chocolates are too easy! Show them that you care and know them well.
What’s the worst Valentine’s Day gift you’ve bought or received?
A teddy bear. Come on, dude, how old do you think I am?
What’s the ideal Valentine’s Day in your eyes?
A relaxed day with no pressure around gifts or dates. Maybe it’s spent with friends, a loved one, or at Newmarket with your dog. It’s not stressful and you actually have a good time!
