My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way just released four new songs

The renowned songwriter is getting a little restless in iso.

The lead singer of My Chemical Romance, Gerard Way, has just shared rough versions of four new solo tracks, ‘Phoning It In’, ‘Crate Amp’, ‘Success!’ and ‘Welcome to the Hotel’.

Taking to Facebook to announce the songs, Way was just in the mood for sharing.

“Hey all, with all this uncertainty I just wanted to start uploading some unreleased stuff,” Way said. “Just so people can check it out and have something to listen to. Just felt like sharing. I think I have a bunch of this stuff, as Doug (McKean) and I have been recording little bits here and there over the years.

“Some of these, like ‘Phoning It In’, were things that I planned on releasing as singles, and I may still do that at some point when I finish them, but I figured why not. It feels good to share. Who knows if some of this stuff would have ever come out?”

Along with releasing the songs, Way shared a photo of his vocal cords taken from a doctor’s appointment prior to embarking on My Chemical Romance’s new chapter. He quoted the doctor in saying, “It’s a little red, but looking good”.

The link to the music can be found via his Linktree which also includes a link to America’s Center for Disaster Philanthropy COVID-19 Response Fund. Way has called the collection of music Distraction Or Despair, two things which the vocalist admits he is shifting between at the moment.

“I’m just winging it, keeping it casual. May add some notes to the tracks,” Way continued via Facebook. “Hope everyone is safe and healthy. Rock on.”

Nice one Gerard!
