How’s this for a throwback: My Chemical Romance have been announced as the headlining act for the 2020 Download Festival.
It was already known that the emo band of your teenage years were reuniting for their first performance since 2012, but now they’ve decided to take advantage of the hype and head overseas. Could this sudden resurrection mean new music is on the horizon?
Download will be home to MCR’s only shows in Australia, so don’t bother holding out for sideshows. Rounding out Download’s first lineup announcement are US alt-rockers Deftones, Aussie punks Clowns, Arizona outfit Jimmy Eat World, genre-bending rock band Baroness and plenty more. This is just Download’s first lineup announcement, and heaps more acts will be unveiled in the months to come.
